God shows us his unconditional love by allowing us to talk to him. that is why he gave us the present of prayer. He also gave us a wonderful gift. To make our own decisions. Instead of him telling us our future and what is going to happen to us, he lets us choose our life, friends and other things. Also he would never abandon us. "In case my own father and my own mother did leave me, even god himself would take me up." (Psalms 27: 10)

In Luke 6:27- Jesus commands us to love our enemies, and says that God lets his rain fall on the just and the unjust. He tells us to forgive 70 x 7. He tells us to be merciful and so we shall also receive mercy. The letters of Paul are, especially in 1 Corinthians 13 a lot about bearing with one another and being patient. The epitome of this is said to be demonstrated when, from the Cross, Jesus said, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do." It is also said that God is Love, and in him there is no darkness. He loves completely, and tells us to be channels of His love also.
Now, if you have children, you know that love does not mean to let them do whatever they want to do, because that would actually be unloving. Sometimes love is saying 'no', and sometimes love is letting them take the consequences of their actions.
Sometimes it happens that someone chooses to hate us, and someone chooses to hate God,,, we can't force them to love us,, they have free will to reject us. Sometimes love is letting go.

He stretched out his arms and let someone put huge train spikes in his wrists/hands......and into his feet....they pounded them in.
Then God's son bore the sin of all the world....past, present, future....of everyone....who has lived, who is living now, and who will ever live in the future.
Then after he died, God brought him back to life after 3 days....and HE lives forevermore....
Without the rising from the dead,,, the death would be like anyone elses. And we would not be able to live in heaven when we die.
But without faith that Christ did all this....it is hopeless. Only trusthing that the work of the Cross....the death and resurrection of Christ....there is no life in heaven.
NOW THAT IS TRUE LOVE......I know that Jesus loves me because the bible tells me so.....and my HEART knows.

Romans 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.
Enough said.
Peace.
