I am trying to get to my friends bachelorette party ASAP. i am coming from wilmington,NC and going to hertford, NC. yahoo and mapquest both have four hour driving directions and that is entirely too long. if anyone know how i could maybe shave and hour off of that i would love it. i dont always trust yahoo and mapquest because they said it took 3 hours to get to greenville, NC and actually takes just under two hours.

From Wilmington, straight up North 17 all the way to Hertford. Its the best way.

Problem is you really can't haul a$$ on Hwy 17 (unless you're on the KrautRocket).
So, I would take I40 West to I95 North to 64 East. It's more miles but, you're travleing faster... then again it might just work out the same. Watch out for troopers on I95
