I want to record onto my computer, from a mic that plugs into it. I need a program that would allow me to layer my diffent tracks and adjust the volume with a digital soundboard. I've looked in new egg and none of the descriptions, of any of the products, mentioned any of that. NEED HELP!! Thanx.

Try this for home PC use:
http://webdevelopersjournal.com/studio/soft.html

Pro:
http://www.sonymediasoftware.com/products/soundforgefamily.asp

or, better yet, just buy a Mac and get Garage band free.

I don't know if it does all of that, but a program called audacity will at least do the recording, and I think it may allow you to layer tracks:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Its free, so if it doesn't work, you haven't lost any money.
