you need to take him to immediate care. He is allergic to whatever bit him.

I'm very sensitive to a lot of things and will react horribly and get bumps like that from any kind of bite but have never had any reaction beyond that. I normally just put antibiotic cream on the bite and in a day or two, it will heal up. It really depends how young your son is. If he's an infant or toddler or very young, I'd see if maybe your doc has some kind of emergency number where you could at least call and get some reassurance. Good luck!!

If the arm is swollen, I would be very careful in the future, as there may be a tendency to get a worse reaction. This should be brought to the attention of his m.d. because you don't want any internal swellings to happen, especially in his throat, which then becomes a life-threatening situation. Those who are severely allergic should carry an epi-pen with them, especially when outdoors.

If it were a severe reaction, it would have happened within 5 min of the attack. I would watch the bump for signs of infection. Apply cold compresses to the area to reduce swelling. If after tomorrow morning, the affected area isn't reducing in size, call your physician. (nobody wants to pay urgent care weekend rates for a doc)

Just keep an eye on it and take his temperature if he complains of lightheadedness, headache or fever. You might put some Soov on it or some antiitch cream with hydrocortisone so he does not scratch it; You can ice it too to prevent further swelling.

What a wonderful Mom you are! You ask us instead of taking him to a doctor or Urgent Care!
Why don't you just tell him to walk it off.
