Then the lifeblood of the world would flow out and everything would come to an end.
I am being serious too.

First it's not the tree of life it's the tree of knowledge. If that would have happened ( it can't anymore because the tree no longer exists) then the atheist would have known all there is to know about God and good and evil. When Adam and Eve ate from the tree their eyes were opened to sin. They were basically told that if they ate from the tree they would be like God and not lowly humans serving him. I don't see were there would be a difference between eating from the tree or chopping it down.

A sin is a sin, Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the Tree of Life......That was a sin. They might as well have taken a blow torch or an axe and chopped it down. Either way, things would be the same as they are today...

If you think about the Garden of Eden, Eve changed the world with one little bite.

Well, I guess the tree would probably bleed to death. Or, since the question assumes that god is real, god would fix it with his sky pixiedust and clap his hands because it was good. Unless this is a Star Trek episode scenario, in which case, god would have derived his life and power from the tree, and the atheist would have effectively killed him by destroying the tree of life. McCoy would say "He's dead, Jim" , Kirk would say: "Now you people....must....learn to live and...... take care of yourselves without the help of this opressive sky pixie that we have.... freed you all from. Let me.... show your females...... how to pleasure you. " LOL

The will of man would be stronger without the oppression of right and wrong. We would just be.
