I just read a question posted by Searcher and part of it stated: "This makes the Wiccans/Pagans/Agnostics/Buddi... look like the intelligent, loving people instead of the Christians." Of course, people got all in a huff about it because SOMEHOW that quoted statement means that Wiccans and Agnostics are not loving. She never said that. Quit jumping to conclusions, please! Do you think everyone's out to get you or something? Stop twisting words around. How can you be smart enough to operate a computer and somehow not be smart enough to read and understand the question being asked?

Actually I'm being very loving. It's called tough love.

Because people like to create conflict. It makes their lives more interesting.

If you were trapped inside a burning building, and nobody did anything to help you get out, what kind of people would you persume them to be? If you are like anybody I know, you would think that they are cowardly, stupid, uncaring people with no regard for the sanctity of human life. This is what it would be like if Christians stopped telling people they were going to hell; they don't want anyone to get burned; they don't want anyone to die. Hell is a very real place where people who do not place their trust in Jesus Christ will abide forever. You can either believe that or reject it, but the fact remains the same. I don't want you to go to hell (why else would I tell you all this), and I am not up-tight, and I'm not trying to find someone to pick on; I simply defend my beliefs. Sometimes I am stearn, sometimes I may be sarcastic, and that is because I sometimes find it more compelling to argue my point in the same fashion in which it is being challenged. I seem to detect some "uptightness" in your question though, and I do not believe you have met many Christians, and you seem to know little of Christianity. You have obviously heard the Gospel message before, and it would seem pointless to tell you again. Don't make judgements on people when you only look at the obvious, look deeper, look at things others do not before you form your opinion. Have a nice day.

While she may not have said that explictly, take a look at the dichotomy that was presented. She apparently believes that Christian are supposed to appear as loving, intelligent people, but that they currently aren't - and that the "others" are currently appearing to be. That the others are currently appearing to be should be of no consequence... unless there's a belief that they are not, in general, loving or intelligent, or, at the very least, less so to the point of being noticeable. While that may not have been her intent, it's still a rather poor implication.

When did whining about one question by creating another question become a very intelligent thing to do?

Never?
