press 1 for English and 2 for Spanish? Even when you call a government office! When will the insanity stop? How did this country get to the point where our own government offices greet you this way when you call?

Because we are just so damn busy being politically correct to other nationalities that we forget about our own people .I speak Spanish but I'm not Hispanic,I speak French Cajun, but I'm not French Cajun(although my husband is) I speak English because I'm a born and raised American.Be correct to me ,ask me what as an American ,I prefer before this type of S*** is done.
I don't want to constantly be offered information in Spanish .Why only one other language, why not all of them until we run out of damn buttons to push.

Inability to speak English impairs the capacity of a citizen to digest political speech, to serve on juries, to participate in judicial proceedings, to serve in the armed forces, and to participate in a military mobilization. From the viewpoint of society, the fact that some illegals will escape the obligations of America and will only enhance the prospect for isolation and ethnic strife.

We are America and America speaks English.

Nice link Ally O thank you
NO amnesty
Deportation not legalization for illegal criminals

If it was free it wouldn't be costing millions and millions of dollars to have every thing accessible to the Spanish speaking ,your free Spanish is costing the American multi millions of real money

Well I think the Mexican people are finally getting it. We have really pulled the wool over their eyes. Yes we let millions of illegals in at a time when we needed roads built and houses built produce picked and truck drivers to deliver the goods at a very low price. We lowered interest rate so big companies could borrow money to expand their businesses and so the working class could be fooled into buying houses at incredibly rediculous prices. Why build houses? it stimulates the economy for big business. Why lower interest rates? So people can afford to buy a home. Why should they buy instead of rent? So the can tax the new homeowner at the rediculous price they paid for the home. Now we are passing laws to get rid of the illegals and send them back and eventually get back to a even economy If you think the government doesn't have a clue think again.

Think of it this way. It's the governments way of making sure that some people never learn English and therefore will always be available to pick fruit.

That was sarcasm, I'm sick of it as well.

I have no problem with private corporations that cater to their Spanish-speaking customers in such a manner. But it does irk me that my government conducts business bilingually. Look what that practice has done to places like Canada and Belgium.
The way to move ahead in the US is to learn and use English, period. We should require immigrants to learn the common language of the US.

If I were to visit or live in another country. I feel that it is my responsibility to learn enough of the language to get by. It would be really wrong for me to expect that everyone else learn my language to help me get by. So if you want to live in America, you had better speak English well enough to get along.

Its all about geography.....We share a border with a Spanish speaking country....Get used to it....I just came back from Hawaii and guess what? Everything is written in both English and Japanese, and no one complains about it....The population there is half Japanese.....Stop whining about diversity and grow up.....We don't live in a bubble, we live in world with all sorts of people and cultures....If you want to live in isolation, go to the moon!
