When I worked in McDoofs (as I call it), the grease wasn't changed, employees didn't wash their hands before preparing food, out of date food was cooked and sold instead of being thrown out, food that landed on the floor was picked up and put back on the burger, cold French fries were reheated and sold....I could go on and on.....
As for whether they treat their employees fairly, my answer would be they don't care about their employees. To them, for every employee that quits, there's 3 more waiting to take their place. So they really don't care what their employees think about their job, their salary, conditions, etc.

I worked for McDonald's at their head office in Canada. Everything that goes into there food is good. And if you write to them they will even give you a list of all the ingredients of everything they sell. People always like to think McDonald's is trying to sell something other than real food. But lets face it if you eat it everyday it is NOT healthy for you. But then eating anything everyday is not health for you. As for the grease; well that is the responsibility of the individual store to change it. Usually when it gets too dark it is changed. But they filter it every night to get all the leftover pieces out of it.
The french fries are cooked in beef lard and everything else in vegetable oil. That's is why the fries taste so good.
As for how they treat the employees; I started out flipping burgers on the grill. The pay is not great at first but the perks are good. Free food, paid breaks, drinks anytime you feel thirsty. They do their best to treat the employees fairly.
However, I worked in a corporate store not a franchisee. The franchisee is left to his or her own discretion as to what the hourly rate and perks are to be. Usually if the franchisee is making a lot of money the employees get many perks.

oh girl, i worked there for a long time, not anymore though, let me tell you. they hardly ever change the grease, usually they just strain it. the meat is not real meat, it is soy. the chicken nuggets are not all chicken, its a mixure of different animal parts. the reason i know this is because we read the boxes that they come in. the ice cream machines harldly get cleaned so dont get ice cream there either. the employees are way over worked and under paid. if they see you working hard then they put you doing more jobs. but as soon as u order your food is being prepared, nothing is left over. so it is freshly cooked...hope i was helpful....wendy

I've never worked there, but I know they must get a kick out of muckin up people's orders. When there's a long line in the drive-thru, I LOVE to sit there after getting my food and going through the bag to make sure everything's there before I pull off. I takes a minute or three, but it's worth the prevented frustration of finding out they didn't give me my s***!

hi, i worked there when i was 16 and i would have to say that the managers keep everything in line for the most part. you have to do what they tell you. but i will tell you that alot of frozen chicken that gets dropped on the floor before its cooked, has a 5 second rule. as well as the pies. and the french fries are only suppose to be good for 7 minutes, but most places keep them for like 30. and the shake machine, i remember loosing the cap to the mix in there and having to fish it out with my arm, which i think is pretty gross....

I worked there years ago, and they work you like dogs. The pay sucks and it's not worth it. As for the food everything was fresh. Like I said I worked there years ago, I don't even want to think how they handle things now. One could only imagine, now they can't even get an order right! Well the one I go to this always happens. Now you see why I don't even eat there like I used to.
