I am wanting to plan a LAST MINUTE getaway. We have a money limit of about 250 dollars per person for the actual trip not including food or party money! We live in West Virginia and we are all just wanting to have a great birthday weekend we won't forget. Any ideas?

My most interesting birthday was on my 40th. My husband didn't tell me what we were doing. We first went out to dinner at a nice restaurant overlooking the ocean in Del Mar Calif. Then we walked out of the restaurant and up some stairs to an office. We walked inside the office and my husband said to the lady behind the counter. "I am here to pick up my hot air balloon to fly." I was flabberghasted. My husband is a pilot but I didn't think he could fly a hot air balloon. I was terrified at first. So we got in a van and went out to an open field where a bunch of hot air balloons were set up. Needless to say he did not fly the balloon. A professional did the flying. It was really a fun experience though. I would recommend it if you have never done it before. The surprise of it all was half the fun too. You could have the dinner and the ride for less than your $500 budget and I would think a balloon ride over the West Virginia countryside would be delightful.

I was thinking about the same question, my birthday is around the corner also. I was thinking about going to Hawii. Now your question, how many are involved, $250 is not alot of money If you can add more $$ an all inclusive trip to the islands will be nice. I don't know of any local trips that you will not have to pay for food, drinks etc.

If you and/or your friends enjoyed the movie, Dirty Dancing, then consider staying where it was filmed at the Mountain Lake Resort in the Southwestern Virginia mountains:

Added fun could be to take a video camera along and do a little spoof spin-off of the movie with your party goers to make it very memorable.

Worth checking out this place, even if unfamiliar with the movie.

I am not familiar with the area but I would go to the nearest hot big city and rent a hotel room and maybe a limo to take you club hopping if you like to go to the bars. If not I would go someplace rural and maybe rent a cabin or something have bonfires and party. Depends on what you like to do but i would get a bunch of friends and go out of town definatly

Vegas can be cheap if you get a good last minute deal. Also, since you are in WV, why not rent a cool cabin in the Smoky Mtn Gatlinburg area and party all weekend.
