the united states became a waste land. You had nothing left here and was very difficult to survive for you and your family. And canada was a country that was doing pretty darn good.

Would you go to canada anyway you could to survive?
Even if you weren't allowed in canada, would you still try?
If you did go then why did you go?

and remeber you have a family with kids so it's just not you. And staying in your country means starvation and poverty. Not that hard to imagine with 9/11 and the world not pleased with us

please answer in a honest matter

I actually considered Canada recently, when some nut had proposed that the draft be reinstated. I have 1 child. We are against the war and not about to die for it. In addition, we have suffered extreme poverty in the past. I've gone years without health care and get barely care...like if this was a third world country. This is a 3rd world country to the poor. So with that said, I looked into Canada. They used to provide refuge to draft dodgers, but don't anymore. They have universal health care, but I think it's for citizens only. They have strict immigration policies. In fact, last I heard, just to enter you have to show ID, money and pretty much prove you're just there to visit and can pay your way for your visit. I'm not brave enough to go illegally and my son loves it here. So no, I wouldn't sneak in. It wouldn't do any good.

You know, people have been invading or attempting to invade other peoples' country/land since mankind became known as civilized. Ghegas Khan, Julius Ceasare, Adolf Hitler and many, many more. There have been many different reasons for those invasions but the bottom line is, those invasions were forced on the people of the land that the others wanted.
We as Americans are generally far more generous and undestanding of the plight of folks who are in need. That does not give others a right to invade and take over and maker their own culture out of our country. That isovert act is an act of agression or war.
I suppose it could be argued that the influx of poor, under developed country folks who have less or no oportunity in their own country is somehow justified but where is the limit? And what are the terms?
Do we just allow everyone to rush into our country, bringing chaos, disease, economic disorder and destruction, population and language problems, mayhem to our welfare and public assistance systems, our health care and hospitals. I could go on. When is it enough to stop this invasion and call it what it appears to be. A take over of our country. If things don't change soon, I rather suspect it will become a war of sorts.
It has effectively happened in the Souther California area currently/already.
We can and should and I beleive will help Mexico but Mexico and Mexicans have to get real about this all. They need to go home and lobby and work and if need be, rebel against their own government. We can help. But only if they go back to Mexico and show some determination for their own country and future. Coming up to the USA and ruining our country, waving and being proud of the flag of Mexico shows how mixed up Mexicans really are. They are here for the money and opportunity. They are not here for the USA. In my terms, they are invaders, criminals and opportunists to their own end and they should be stopped ASAP!
If they want to be here, there are ways and means available legally in which they can become citizens. That is the way they can come here and be welcomed.Legal immigration is a good thing.
We will not tolerate domination by illegals of any country that push their way into our land and culture thinking they can take over what is ours. NO matter what excuses they may hold up to justify their acts of opportunistic agression against the USA.

Staying in my country doesn't mean starvation or poverty. That's just a justification you are throwing in to make it seem okay to do illegal acts. No, i would not move to Canada and demand things from them even though I was illegal. I would work to improve the area I was in with the help of my law abiding neighbors. So take your boo hoo the poor Mexicans are only trying to improve themselves and go away.

Mexico needs to fix its' own problems. If they can build resort hotels, they can build everything else they need to support their economy. Get back to me when that's done and we'll talk about making the US border more mexican-friendly etc. But, not before they take issue with domestic poverty, drugs, gangs, and the rest of it. America's got problems, too, and if our country went downhill like you describe, Canada would put up a fence overnight to make sure that our problems didn't become their problems. NO 'American Union' etc.

Well that would be a different story. You are not comparing apples to apples. Mexico is not a desolate waste land its corrupt and has a despicable government. If that kind of stuff was happening in a America we wouldn't put up with it. We would fight for our country and take it back.. We would not run to another country like cowards and losers and if we did we wouldn't take take take from that country like it was our god given right.

I'd stay home and work on rebuilding my homeland. I'd actually DO something about the problem rather then trying to make my problems go away by entering a country illegally. That's a pretty pathetic way to justify illegal immigration.

If I went illegally and I got caught, I would expect to be deported. I also would not expect Canada to take quietly having 12 to 20 million of me draining their education and health care funds. I certainly would not march in their streets and demand more and call them racist when they recognize the problems I caused them.

There is plenty of good land in Mexico. If Israel could make a agricultural mecca out of that plot they were given, Mexico should be over there copying down everything they did. That is what I would expect to happen here in the US. My opinion still stands... Deport all illegals.

If you keep running eventually you run out of places to ruin. You have to work hard and build your own country. Do you think America was always this way? No, our ancestors worked hard to get this country going and we must continue the battle. It is our right, our privilege and our duty to protect this county from those that want to ruin it as they have already done in their homeland. We must worry about our own children as you claim to worry about yours.
