I am proud to be an atheist. I am also a moral, giving, generous person who considers others everywhere and work for the good of other people what ever religion or race. But luckily for me I do not need a God to be good! I was once brainwashed by religion but then thought about the absurdity of it and made my own decision to be atheist.

Many muslims do become atheist as do many jews.
Muslims however live with a death threat over their heads if tyhey are ever found out. this is how Islam works regardless of how much pampering the western world gives it. Give the islamic countries freedom of religion and enforce it and with in 20 yrs there would be few muslims left.

That is really sad. Many people are duped by religion. Of course religion is mans feeble attempt to reach God. It is too bad that you didn't switch to a relationship with God rather than just giving up on him altogether.
It is not uncommon for ungodly people to do good. In fact there are many mentions of it in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. But that drive to do good to the fellow man comes from somewhere within us. Where?

Of course a Muslim can lose their faith & become an athiest.

As to what will happen to them, I think the only problem they may have is disapproving relatives - but that happens with all religions so they wouldnt get any different treatment to anyone else who becomes an athiest.

Yes of course they can but I doubt if their family will be very happy. Being moral, giving, generous and considerate are natural abilities that we have and can exercise. Man's ability to be so has existed long before religion.

There have been atheists throughout the history of Islam and because of that they have been prosecuted and some killed, still atheism not accepted in Islam but you can say it indirectly like i.e seculiar, enlightenment, Renascence or humanist this way well be less harsh.
