I own a bar and no you do not have to have a drivers license, but you do have to have a state ID with your age on it and in most states you have apply for a license to serve liquor unless it is just a beer bar. Most of the bars will pay for your license to serve. Just ask the bar you are thinking about going to work what their polces are and what is required.

If I do recall correctly, you must be 18 with picture ID. Quite the contradiction considering you must be 21 to drink. However depending on the establishments requirements you can be 18 to visit but not drink. If serving a minor and caught you are arrested, charged with a misdemeanor, released to appear in court and the judge then fines you.

You can get an I.D. card in any state that shows your age. Noone needs to have a drivers license to do anything but drive.

You can work anywhere you want as long as your old enough. Having a drivers liscense only allows you to drive, and of course provides proof of your age.

You just have to have a state issued I.D. of any kind. Usually penalties would be in the form of monetary fines. This will, of course, vary by state.
