I am a very peaceful atheist. I have no violent urges or desire to loot and burn. Fear of some afterlife as a punishment is ridiculous.

no. i know that there IS a hell, and because of that, i live more peacefully. i go to church and have made some very reliable friends... true friends, there. i met my husband there. if i thought that there wasn't a hell, i would try whatever i thought sounded like a good idea at the time. i'd end up feeling broken and empty because of it by searching for love in all the wrong places, trying new things all the time. i'd probably be a prostitute selling myself for drugs, constantly worried and stressed and regretting the choices i'd made. because i know that there is a hell, i know which direction i want my life to go, and have lived a much more fulfilling life because of it. :)

I know there is no hell and I live vary peacefully, one day all people will come to realize that it is just a myth, God never created hell man did, religious fear mongering has gone on since the first words went in the bible, God creates beautiful and wonderful things including life, man creates havoc and fear war and violence and most important untruths for personal gains, and that is the hell people have to deal with today.

No because its not all about hell. The devil or hell is not always the cause of bad things. Sometimes the bad things that you go through are only a test from God to see if you are going to be faithful to him through anything.

I already know Heaven and hell are imaginary...but yes if everyone could finally admit this to themselves the world would be a more peaceful place as a whole.

I do know that there is no hell
God wouldn't make or tolerate such a place, he's a God of love
Hell is mankind's common grave

Without hell, there is no reason to believe in God, which makes you alot freer to do what you want and therefore it will depend on the individual person.
