Some Tibetan Buddhists say that you should give your pet dharma names, so that every time they hear their name, that puts positive imprints in their mindstreams, which will help them to have a better rebirth. Lama Zopa named one of his dogs Om mani padme hum. I think Zopa is a cool name, and that's a dharma name. Khadro is Tibetan for an angel-type of being. Dolma and Tara are the names of female buddhas. i give my cats the crazest names. Like talouse, churby dean, moo moo, baby kurt, sally (my fav). I only have one of them now but they were all cute names.

first of all, Kudos to you for rescueing her!!!! finally, someone who REALLY cares!!
anyway, I have a close friend who has a grey and white female who she named Lydia. she's such a little sweetheart and is soooooooo gentle and graceful!!!! I absolutly love that name for her!!!! Lydia is sooooooooo cute!!!!
