There really is no exact answer to this question, everybody is different. No kid ever seems to be the right height or the right weight for there age group, according to the experts. The best thing to do is to ask a doctor, and also look at your own family and yourself, whether you were small or big for your age at that time it just varies and the person and their genes.

I would say the average 4 year old is between 30 and 40 lbs, give or take a few pounds, and is about 3 to 3.5 feet tall.

Weights and heights are different for boys and girls. You can print a growth chart from the CDC if you would like to use this link:
http://www.keepkidshealthy.com/cgi-bin/extlink.pl?l=http://www.cdc.gov/growthcharts
You can check what the 50th percentile is for girls or boys and that would give you an idea for average heights/weights.
The most important thing is that your child grows pretty much along the same percentile and doesn't drop suddenly which might indicate a problem.

that all depends on the parents and the child. a child can be in the 5th percentil and be perfetcly normal . MY 5yr old is very small just under 30lbs and perfectly healthy.
more importantly is your child staying on hte growth and weight curve that he/she has been on sense they were about 1yr of age. this is how a pediatrition tells if they are staying on track. not every child will fall into the average range. that is why they have the curve. if you child was growing at the 5th percentile then they normally will stay there. it is when they suddenly stop growing it is a concern(that happened with one of mine). if you are concerened check with your pedi and see if your child is still on the same track.
Mom of 4 kids ranging in the averages of 50th percentil to 5th all normal (ages 14,12,11, and5)
