My Husband has to watch his cholesterol. We love split pea soup. Is there a real danger to adding Ham Hocks to the soup? I love the flavor, but don't want to Overload him on Cholesterol.

trying using smoke turkey instead, t's great with that :) I love smoke turky, it actually smokes pretty good...and almost taste like ham..

The ham hocks will add a lot of unnecessary fat. Stick with the pea soup without it. It will still taste great.

l see our husbands have something in common.
Well we also enjoy pea soup. But what l do now is cook the
Ham hocks first in a separte water then when there cooked
l take all visable fat off then l add it to my peas l hope this
has helped
