I got a second hand dog from a lady advertising in my local paper who I think mistreated the dog. He is a Black Great Dane who has been neutered but he did something today that caught me off guard. I had taken him for a walk and when I got home I sat down for a moment in order to cool off. He comes up to me and sticks his nose on my leg and starts sniffing me. I pushed him away and he tried again. After I pushed him away again he put his snout in my face and his front paws on my thighs. After a moment he moved closer and tried to mount me. I used my hand to block him so he could not penetrate me through my shorts and panties. He repetively kept trying to push past my hand until he growled at me and gave up. He had never done this before.I am scared that he will try it again and to beat my hand before i can stop him. Is there anyway of breaking him from trying this again?

There could be lots of reasons why hes doing it if you havnt had him long it could be a dominance issue hes trying to see what he can get away with. Danes are not the easiest of dogs you will need to take him to training classes if you are planning on keeping him. If you are scared of him think about contacting a rescue group in your area that deals with giant breeds, you and he would be better off apart. Then you can rescue a smaller more managable dog or if you have always wanted a Dane why not see if there is a more mellow older female one at the rescue.

Don't be too sure the dog was "abused", he may have been too much "dog" for them to handle too. I think some retraining efforts are definitely in order, by a very good trainer. Ask your vet, good friends, call some breeders to get some good recommendations. The dog is doing what dogs do, which is sniff, as people, we don't care to have our crotches sniffed, licked, or poked by dogs. In the dog world, this is considered "good doggie manners", unfortunately, we do not! The dog must conform to our wishes, not us to theirs. We are the "pack leaders" and must assert ourselves and our wishes (within reason) on the animal. This makes them pleasant to be around, friendly to others and desirable as companions. Do your dog a favor, get some good dog books, so you understand, can cope and can appropriately train your new 2nd hand dog to be a "treasure". If you cannot do this, consider finding a person who can. I really think the dog is just doing it "doggie style", and not necessarily trying to be a perv, but you never know. Good luck! Hope it all turns out good for both of you!

I have a second hand beagle, male, neutered and he still humps on the female beagle we have. He is not doing anything but going on memories. Get a rolled up paper and smack him on the nose. You do that a couple of times he will get the hint that it is a bad thing. Smack him and say no.

Hmm... it incredibly is a theory... it takes a undeniable quantity of time and exposure for 2nd hand smoke to actual coach subjects. regularly which would be years. I could ask your self whether pets actual stay long adequate for the severe impacts of 2nd hand smoke to truly be an argument for them interior the long haul? purely one thing to contemplate i assume. i'm no longer suggesting that is totally properly to exhibit animals to it from now on than that's people tho.

He needs to be w/ a dog owner w/ lots of experience handling big dogs. Call a local rescue group and your local vets... place the dog.

Then get you a baby who's not *so much* dog to handle.

Been there! Good luck to ya.

lightly smack his nose and say no! or use a spray bottle of water and say no! make sure the "no" is sayed firmly and loud. sometimes dogs will do this when they are going thru puberty and if it is not addressed they will continue. it is very bizzare that he is doing this after neutering, but if the habit was not addressed that might explain it. take him to or consult your vet. good luck!

Your dog is not trying to rape you. Look for cheap dog training classes since it sounds like simply ignoring bad behavior, rewarding good behavior won't work for a dog that big and aggressive.

GET RID OF THE DOG!! go to the vet and ask them about it if you should put him to sleep because you dont want it to happen to someone else or you if you keep him! I would get rid of him as soon as you can!
