By reason of the simple yet universal fact that they ignore everything that Jesus taught and stood for!

the teachings of jesus and mohammed are the same. they both come as messengers from the same god ( but known by different names due to language)
Mohammed came 400 years after Jesus and brought another message of salvation from GOD to add to the message that Jesus brought.
So he was the second coming of the messiah. since he was the most recent messenger, his message is pre-eminent and he is the number one messiah. so the muslims recognize Jesus as a holy man, but do not consider him the one and only messiah. its that simple.

he is a prophet of God, sent to people to guide them toward the truth. he is respected in the islam and in the Quran. insulting Jesus(P) in Islam is just like insulting Muhammad(P).
