my cat eats his own poop?

what is wrong with the cat? i saw him doing his business, right after he is done, he licks his poop... now my whole family hates him n tries to avoid him... any help?

There is nothing wrong with you cat, in fact its very common. Cats eat their own poop simply because it taste like their food. It can be solved very easily with a product called "Forbid". Call a local veterinarian to check and see if they have it, most will sell it to you with out an appointment. It comes in a little packet like instant oatmeal, and all you do is sprinkle it over their food, after they eat it will cause their excrement to have a fowl taste and most of the time stop the habit within a couple of days.

That was not feces that she vomited. It was a hairball. Looks like a tube of hair and partially digested food. Especially during this shedding season help her get rid of the shedding hair by giving her regular combings. This will lessen the incidence of hairballs. If you can get fresh long grass from an area away from roads or pesticide use bring some in for her a couple times a week. Wash it under running water first then present it to the cat. It will help her get rid of hair in her digestive tract.

If she is a dark haired cat it is probably not poop it is probably a hair ball. You can purchase catlax from a pet store and it will help her digest the hair. The yellow liquid is stomach bile that helps the fur to be vomited.

watch don't let him hang out in his box for too long. My cat has his litter box outside and when he's got to go i take him out and bring him right back in. Of course he's never eaten' his dukies before.
