I'm not really sure "love" is the appropriate or operative word choice here. I mean I like Him, uh, Her, umm, It, uhh, oh, Whatever.... I like to think we're friends, sort of.
Don't get me wrong, whatever the Divine One is, I am grateful for the creation of the Universe and all, I think. And I'm doing my homework, trying to figure out what Its All About, you know, when I have the time. When the Seahawks aren't playing.......
As far as Heaven goes, well, not to offend anyone, but, its not my thing. I think we have a lot longer to go than one miserable lifetime and TH ATS IT, Heaven or Hell, one or the other. I mean why would the Almighty Great One create infinity and then use such a tiny little bit of it on each of us, doesn't really make sense to me......

I don't think anyone can truly "love" someone because of the goods he/she/it provides. Why do people love God then? Simple. God created the earth, and us humans. But humans messed up, no one can deny that though we are basically owned by God, we have all sinned, cursed, killed, and worshiped false idols.
"But God demonstrates his love for us in this: While were still sinners, Christ [God's only son] died for us. Since we have therefore been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!" - Romans 5:8-9
Whether people on earth want to believe it or not, the theory of creation is so much more evident than evolution, the statistics are ridiculous! God sacrificed his own son for us, and that's the greatest show of love the whole earth has ever experienced. God is alive, and we alone were unable to make it into heaven.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23
So why do I love God? Many consider this message folly, but he is offering this free gift of life. It's not about the good things you do, because all that doesn't matter if we still have impurity through sin. The gift of eternal life with God is already paid for! I just have to reach out and grab it. Thank you so much God!
"That if you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." - Romans 10:9

Of course, but it is much more than that. You love God because of what He is to you. You know that he gave His life and suffered for us, and died so that we can be forgiven, but you have to ask. It is there, if you believe and ask for forgiveness. Spirituality is much more complex, because you grow in your belief, and as you go along life's pathway and you have experiences, you realize how much you do need God. Some people get it early in life, and yet, others have to be older and have more challenging experiences, or trauma, they have to realize that there is something bigger than themselves, that when the chips are down, that the one that you have to go to is the Father God. When you face death, or death of a loved one, you realize that you need help, a Devinne intervention, and when you get it, you know where it came from. You have to realize it has to be God's will, because sometimes, He will just call us home. The personal relationship with Christ, and the Holy Spirit, is something that you have to experience. Once you have it, it will never leave you. If you ask, then Christ will come to you.

This is why I love God:
John 3:16-17, KJV
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

No. There is nothing none of us can do to win brownie points to get into Heaven. But there are things we can do to stay out of it and have our names written out of the book of life. God destroys those who don't believe.
I love God because no matter what, He is my true Father and I experience unconditional love with Him every second of every day of my life. He will love me always, and His example of loving is what I pattern my life after.

Most people only care enough about God to make themselves look good, or to cover thier butts, in case there is a God. Sad but true.
