I'm American but my family is English, and every time someone says "dustbin" I picture an entire trash can filled with fine dust. Its such a strange visual I just can't help cracking up. What word or phrase makes you laugh?

Fanny pack makes me howl! To anyone British, it sounds like something ladies would put on their privates to relieve bruising or swelling!

I'm American and I have English friends. When they call the hood of the car the "bonnet", I get this mental picture of a wild Easter bonnet, or a pink baby bonnet on the front of the car. Cracks me up!

I am Russian and in my language the word that is pronounced [truup] means "corpse". When I was at college, during English class, one of the students got a text with the sentence "Troops stood on top of the hill". He was not very good in English, so he translated it as, right! "Corpses stood on top of the hill". We all roared!!!

My friend and I are crazy! We got in a fight while she was at my house and I gave her gum. She inspected the gum and put it in her mouth. I went "Yea, the gum is posoned!" So she dropped to the floor actin like she was chokin. She tried to use the dinner table chair to get up and it tipped over and landed on her face!!!
So now when I hear anyone say "Poisoned gum!" I burst out laughin remembering what happened!

I'm a Southerner and when it's chilly, we say it's a "tad bit nippy." But one time a friend and I started home from shopping and noticed it had turned real cool. She got her tongue twisted and said, "it's a tit bit nipply." Now our whole family and all our friends say it and it always makes us laugh.

Horsey sauce.
Seriously. The more you say it, the funnier it is. My husband showed me a comedy sketch based on that very principle once.
