Yes, I would. I married a guy with a felony. The past is the past (unless it was a sexual predator type thing).

Yes. I think everyone deserves a second chance. My sister is a convicted felon and she is a really good person who made a grave mistake; she got behind the wheel when drunk, had a passenger in the car with her, hit a semi parked on the side of the road & put her passenger in a wheelchair for life.

This even changed her life. She's a different person, now. She hasn't touched a drop of alchohol, she goes to AA everyday, sometimes 2x & she speaks to others about what happened to her so she might save them from the same thing happening. She is a good person and she is my best friend.

Stealing a COAT? That is a felon? In what state? If I were you, I'd move to California first. That's insane, unless it was a fur coat and it was taken for monatary value, not for warmth. I'd need to know all of the circumstances surrounding the event before I could pass judgement and I suggest that's what you do, too.

Well, people CAN and DO change. Robbery of a coat isn't that terrible of a thing. Especially if they were young when it happened... we don't always make the best decisions when we are young.

Anyhow, if the person has truly learned from the experience and has changed themselves give them a chance!

Its not like it was murder or anything.

"robbery" of a coat? i know you can rob a bank and a person but surely you steal a coat?

such petty theft is hardly worth worrying about. give the guy a chance (and buy him a coat for every birthday and xmas)

I would. People make mistakes and we cant judge a person completely by his or her past. Everyone deserves a second chance but if you start to see signs or regression back to old bahavior, then flee immediately.

yes because when people are bad and turn their entire life around shows that now they've realized they done bad and need to become a better person for yourself. I mean it shows their detirmend to help prevent younger children from having as bad as a life he or she had
