I will be ending my physiotherapy treatments next week, and have been going there for about 3 days a week for 8 months. Is it appropriate to give them a thank you card on my last visit? If so, who should I give it to and who should I write it to...there were about four different physiotherapists working with me during these 8 months. Should I just write "To the staff"? Or is a thank you card not even necessary?

If you really think they helped you then yes. Feeling appreciate makes One feel better about themselves and the services they do for others. Write it to the staff and no one will feel left out.

Sending a thank you card is rarely consider wrong. If you feel gratitude towards the people who saw you through your therapy I would say that a thank you card would be a very nice way to say that. However I don't think it is viewed as necessary.

As far as how to go about it...that depends. I would say an individual thank you would be appropriate if it were four therapists out of a large number of therapists and you had little to no interaction with other staff. But if it's a small staff and for example other therapists offered lots of encouragement, etc. then a "To the staff" card would be more appropriate.

I'm not Emily Post, so...lol. I just try to be considerate and show gratitude appropriately.

Everyone appreciates a thank you, even though they are getting paid for the service they give, especially health care workers.. I would send it after the last visit, address it on the inside to "
Dear Everyone" [that way the office staff who did your chart, greeted you, took care of your insurance, feel special too]. On the outside," To the staff of " .
Another nice thing would be to address a thank you letter to administration, so the thank you can be put into people's files. Be specific about what you liked: friendly, professional, compassionate, never let you give up. And mention anything special they did that was extra, like called you a cab.
Administration likes to keep thank you notes, and bring them out and read them, anonymously, of course, at banquets, new employee orientations, staff meetings.

A thank you card would be very nice indeed. You could address
the envelope to the four physiotherapists by their name and staff, or if the particular partnership has a name - you can address it by that name. Or you could address "To My Friends at " if you feel comfortable with that.

Also, a plant for the office, or some cookies or doughnuts for the staff would be super sweet.

A thank you card would be a thoughtful thing to do. If you're feeling "up to it" a nice tray of cookies, banana bread or other snack treat would be enjoyed by all the staff.

If you feel appreciative, let them know it! Wait until after your last appointment and mail them a card, to the whole staff. If you feel inclined, send a gift basket of cookies or other small treat. They will appreciate this and you will feel good acknowledging the good job they did for you.

i would say a thank you card would be a great idea but send it to the office after your last visit. Make it to the staff and doctors at so and so company or doctors office or whatever....

thank you's aren't given out enough in our society - people should be more willing to show thier appreciation.

That should be completely appropriate. "To the staff" will also be fine, unless you want to write individual ones. No one would ever think you were strange for writing them a thank you card--I'm sure they'd be really appreciative!

Professional services generally do not require a thank you card. Much as you would not jot a card for your lawyer who defended you or your doctor who performed a mammogram, your physical therapy staff would not expect this gesture.

However, kudos to you for the thought.

Bring it in with flowers or something for all the staff if you really are appreciative and want to thank the people who helped you.
