Um... Okay I don't even have a cat... Have you not ever heard the term "curiosity killed the cat"? Though your answer made me laugh, I'm pretty sure you don't know cats well, or you think you are psychic, or something. But yeah... Any other answers?

Well, you see, the cat did not die because it was curious. It died because it met upon Curiosity in a bad way. It was a thursday, not a bad day, quite sunny infact. The cat was trodding along it's way when it saw the chicken across the road with the fox enjoying a burger from the burger barn. Being hungry himself and a bit miffed that he wasn't invited(for he knew them both and they knew he was alone and off work from hairdressing on Thursdays), he decided to cross the road by the sign("autobon") that stood across from the burger barn. Well, Curiosity had just been given the keys to her new Beemer for her 16th birthday, and being on the autobon..she was driving 55....NOT! More like 95. She made the sloping corner very well(nice handling on a BMW), and seemed to hear a vague THUMP, but alass, nothing too different from the base in her new eminem album(that is sooo irritating to those of us who prefer a more country genra). The fox and the chicken never saw the ending of cat...as Curiosity killed him...as they were locked in a feverish embrace, hidden away from chickens many chicks and fox's wife. THAT is how Curiosity killed the cat.

Ah, the age old question. You see, it originated because long, long ago a person had a cat that was incredibly curious. Constantly getting it's head stuck in places, falling in things, falling off things, etc. One day the cat wanted to figure out how it felt to go skydiving, not remembering that he didn't have opposable thumbs and couldn't pull the rip cord...and that was the end of that.

**Okay, so none of gave you a "real" answer because none of us know...I really did try to look on the internet and find the origination of the idiom, but I didn't have any luck! I'm sorry!!!!**

The cat's curiosity led it to a place from which it could not escape. Likely inside the wall of a house. It died from its inability to extricate itself.

The modern application of the phrase suggests that someone is getting themselves into a similarly inextricable situation that will do them in.
