Here in Nebraska, it is not required, but the tester can ask you to paralell park if they want to. It just takes practice! Go to an empty parking lot on an early Sunday morning when it is empty... and nobody is watching you! About 6-6:30 am is good. Set up 2 plastic trash cans about 20 feet apart and practice parking between them! They work well for this and if you accidentally hit one they wont hurt your car! Once you do this about 20 times in a row you will be a champion at it! It just takes practice to get it right... but sometimes it is the only way to park... so you NEED to learn to do this! Good Luck!

By the way... this is a great way to learn how to back up a Trailer as well!

Most states do require this as part of the road test. However, if you pass all other parts of the road test, excluding the parallel parking part, you may still score high enough to pass. Good luck on trying.

As far as I know, any state could ask it in the driving test. Besides, you can only take the test in the state you live in. Parallel parking isn't that bad anyway.

In Arkansas. But, you would have to be a resident of any state you take the test in. So that really wouldn't help you.
It would be best to learn how. Then you know how, when you need to know how. It really isn't that hard. Practice makes perfect.
In my opinion, every state should make driver's education mandatory in high school. There would be a lot less accidents.
