my kids and i have had visitations of spirits within the four years that we have occupied this house. It only seems to happen in the fall and winter seasons. where can i go to investigate?

It's not true you can find anything on the internet, and one of those things you're not going find is the history of your particular house unless it has been made public news for some reason, maybe not even then. You'll have go down to the courthouse or office and search in the public records for your city/county. Try asking someone in the genealogy department of the local library where you might locate the deeds and information.
Since this occurs in the fall and winter, my first thought is you may have some kind of animal that moves into your house for the cold season or these occurances may be linked to the use of your heating system.

Ghost are stuck on earth, because of negativity, they were a negative type person, they are afraid of the light, that's why they are stuck on earth.
Spirits are from Heaven, they visit relatives to gave a message, or it can be Angels, or your Spirit guide.
Live Ghost is actually a live person, mistaking for a ghost, some people while they sleep, their soul would come out of them, sometimes they know it because they would look down and see themselves asleep.
I seen ghost, Spirits, and Angels or felt their presences, even God's presences once, since are four.
Ask them Questions, especially if you see them, they will talk sometimes if you talk to them, especially if it's your Spirit guide, or relative, if they are white and Glow, these are Spirits from heaven, or Angels, they try to communicate especially if they hear your prays, they are spiritual like God. Try not to be scared, even ghost wont hurt you at all. They are usually nice, and touch nicely. Ghost are usually grayish in color, just tell them to go into the light. The last two I had were white and glowing, these were the nice ones that touch, one held my hand, as I woke up, the other one I found out was a woman believe to be my Spirit guide, once I talked with her she started talking to me, very beautiful voice, my first thought was an Angel. Their gone now, I think, they seem to come more when I pray to God, especially for Guidance and protection.
I seen and heard, more than them ghost hunters would ever experience. Sometimes ghost and Spirits are attracted to certain people, due to a compassionate heart, especially in prayer, these people's aura around them is larger and would give off a bright glow.

Burn some good sandle wood incense,, to purify the house.
open all the windows, do this till they leave, dont incourage.
in thai land they build a replicia small house put in on a pole in z backyard somewerez and the spirits go inside that house.

Why not do your own investigation? You'll need an electronic thermometer, a laptop computer rigged with an infrared webcam,
and the most important thing to ask the ghost is "What do you need, what do you want?"

You an anoint you own house, you don't need a priest.
Go through you house and see if there is anything that would bring the Devil in.
Statues, occult related, skulls, dragons, ect..
" In Jesus Name" the devil even trembles in the name of Jesus

Probably would be easier to go through public records. Some places have them in their library, some at their courthouse. You may also be able to look up your street name and city,state online and find something.

none just use the authority jesus gives you and cast out those demons anoint your house with oil and begin to pray that the holy spirit will come into your house and see them leave because where light is darkness cannot be
ok and for real dont communicate because the enemy only knows how to destroy and kill
