It may be that the ear is one of many sweat pionts on the human body and your ***** is getting the salt from here or your cat is strange and needs counseling!

When my cats licks and smells my ears he is telling me that he loves me at least that's what I believe and he purrs when he does it too. I have two male cats and only one of them does it so go figure. Also I think they like the waxy buildup that occurs in most humans ears.

Gross-how can you stand it? At night before sleep my cat gives my eyebrow one lick--that's all I can put up with. I guess she is being affectionate. I assume the ear lickers like the taste (yuck) of ear wax.

I have never had a cat do that. If it does it in the morning maybe it has just decided that is the nicest way to wake you. Mine just gets in my face and purrs until I wake up. If I go back to sleep he sticks his nose on mine and that would wake anyone.

That really tickles -- I try to discourage my cats from doing that. Of course if that's the only skin available to them when I am scrunched under my covers they will use it!

I have a cat and a dog but its the dog that does the ear licking.
I'd guess its just cos its you and your cat loves ya.
Just let it......... it must be better that lick'n its bum :)

they lick and bathe theirself all the time. they just wanna be friendly. I LOVE CATS!
