He's grooming you...a huge gesture of love & bonding..lucky you! You must love him alot & he knows it. You may notice cats often groom each other affectionately when close in a family. My cat's best buddy grooms him all the time.

When they rub you with their face they are marking you with their scent and telling other cats that you are their property. As far as licking you all over.... it's the peanut butter!

Mom cats lick their kittens all the time and the kittens will lick one another. Your cat is just identifying you as part of his family.

The cat has scent glands on the sides of their faces. That's a way they mark their territory. I have marks on door jambs, the lower cupboard where their food is stored etc.

He also wants you to have his smell on him so you know to whom you belong -- you're his!

It means kitty loves you of course! Animals are great! Feel lucky to be loved by your fur ball!

But also when they rub the side of thier cheek on you, they are marking thier scent on you..Kinda like you are their territory..

he is trying to put his scent on you either that or you have a lot of salt on your skin. cats like salt. my cat loves me and will do 'head butts" and butt his head on mine. also he will lick the water off my legs when i get out of the tub.

I take it as meaning that he loves you and knows that he depends on you. This is a display of affection and he is attempting to clean you as he/she would clean the kittens and care for them.
