My gosh the religion that says it is peaceful has threatened the rest of the world . Again.
He has to apologize or innocent people get murdered for what? Words.

There is a lot of historical violence with Muslims.
They do act on impulse and not conscience.

No to answer the Pope is not a coward but he does feel responsible for any hurt inflicted by organized terrorism.

I imagine every responsible person in a position should be very careful especially if u are the pope who represent millions of people, I can not remember any Muslim scholar said anything bad about Jesses (peace be upon him) or his mother Marry (peace be upon her) coz you are not Muslim if you don’t respect them.

I feel the pope was not careful enough when he said what he said about Islam and the prophet Mohammad. Everyone is not to blame if he is jealous for his religion, there is many Christiansen in the Muslim world that has churches and can worship freely for centuries.

I don’t think the Pope Cowardict apologized clearly to the Muslims, he said he is sorry for the reaction of his speech not for his attacks on Islam, however this will not going to lead Muslims to murder nuns or burned churches in response but it will make the gape between the two religions wider.

Pope Benedict is a man very far removed from the reality of today's world.
But burning churches and killing nuns? Steve, some would say Las Vegas is pretty removed from reality too. Do his word really reflect many people's thoughts? I think not! And in truth there are factions of Muslim faiths, and in many countries beside the Middle East. And not just Sunni and Shia, most of whom wish to just live their lives. There are also the Ismaeli faction, located mainly in central Asia, of whom we hear very little. and the majority of Muslims are not there in the TV news. Would you want to be in a crowd screaming and demonstrating? Does the fact that many such demo's seem pretty orchestrated and designed to stimulate false idea's not strike you? The Basic ideal is to maintain the power base in any given place, not just the Middle East. As long as you can distract people from the truth the longer your own power base continues.

let me put it this way.
1- Muslims Love God and his holy Prophets more than any thing you can imagine.
2- Muslims are willing to defend God and his Prophet with their Lives.
3- Muslims are angry because the wounds of the insulting cartoons are still fresh and here comes the POPE with another insulting statement to Prophet Muhammed.
4- Muslims feel that there's a war against Islam and Muslims. and you can't blame them when all they see is Muslims dying in Iraq and Palestine and Lebanon and Afghanistan.
5- Muslims (Arabs) are hot blooded unlike the northern Europeans, Muslims in the middle east tend to get angry very quickly.
6- if you stop insulting our religion and our dear Prophet, Muslims will stop protesting and going crazy because they wouldnt find something to piss them off.
7- Muslims went on a silent march today in the middle east. thousands marched the streets silently holding signs that are NOT offensive at all. have you seen them?
8- you don't see the peaceful marches you only wanna watch the burning of churches to prove your opinin on Muslims.
9- Muslims have every right to be crazy because the statement made by the Pope is a lie and gives a bad impression about the holy Prophet and Islam.
10- the Pope is a leader of more than 1.5 billion catholic who take his words LITERALLY.

Have you actually read what the Pope said?

Here is a link to the English translation of the Pope's controversial speech: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060912_university-regensburg_en.html

With love in Christ.
