I have curly hair and I have found that it's pretty much impossible to make it entirely straight without an iron, but here's something that will really relax it:
The minute you get out of the shower, ring your hair out the best you can, and quickly run a comb through it (not a brush). Then ring your hair out again to get excess water out (don't rub because that produces frizz). Then you need to apply an oil or a wax (you can get these at the beauty supply store, OR you can make your own by using just a LITTLE bit of cooking oil...i've heard of people using a little mayonnaise too) and apply it to the palm of your hand and run your fingers through your hair. Then as your hair air-drys, keep running your hands through it (you want the natural oils of your skin to transfer to your hair) and brush it with a wide paddle brush every so often. Your curls should relax and you should have smoother waves.

Well, if your hair is naturally curly, it won't be straight right out of the shower without some type of heat or manipulation...

The following product will stretch your curls and give you more of a wavier look however, it's called Miss Jessies baby curl cream. If you read the instructions on the jar very carefully, they give step by step instructions on how to use the product to stretch out the curls. As with any products used on curly hair however, it's very important that you apply it to very wet hair and do NOT rub your hair vigoriously with a towel as this will start breaking up the curls and it will be the begining of the frizz.

My hair is exactly the same way and I found a perfect solution. When you get out of the shower, brush back your hair and bangs and everything really tight against your head (not painfully!) and put it in a low pony. Let it dry like that for as long as it takes until it is completely dry (I've found doing it way before you go to bed works best). For the part of your hair that hanging out of the ponytail, keep brushing it every once and a while to keep it sorta straight.

Try using SunSilk De-Frizz Shampoo and Conditioner. The bottle is GREEN. Then blow dry your hair and style as usual. Thanks for asking, and I hope this helped you!
