when i wake up in the middle of the night sometimes my calf will hurt really bad for a few min. then it'll stop. why is this happening?

It could be lack of potassium or dehydration. Make sure that you're getting all your vitamins and minerals in your diet. You may consider taking a multivitamin if your diet is not providing what you need. Also make sure your hydrated before bed. If it happens again, pull your toes in toward your leg. If you do this stretch as soon as you feel it coming on, it should stop it.

Sounds like a charlie horse. Could be because you are low in potassium (bananas), sodium or dehydrated. Make sure you are eating right and stretching out before and after you exercise.

You are getting a cramp or "Charley Horse".
The best thing to do and the fastest way to get rid of it is to jump up and down. Sounds wierd, but man it works! And the faster those go away, the better!

maybe bcoz u were sleepin in an awkward position and the blood flow stopped..
