No, you will not get cancer from eating Splenda. Don't believe that reactionary BS from www.thetruthaboutsplenda.com. True, there hasn't been a long-term study regarding Splenda use, but that's because the short term studies did not indicate any sort of problems with Splenda usage. Remember, the FDA has very stringent requirements for new products that are consumed by the public. Those kind of scare tactics from paranoid people are absurd. Chemicals are a part of life, not all are bad, not all are good. Just because something is a "chemical" doesn't mean it will give you cancer.
I also should add that your risk of getting cancer is about 1 in 3 if you're female and 1 in 2 if you're male. The risk decreases if you are not obese and eat healthy. I guess it's possible that Splenda in replacement of sugar may lower your risk of developing cancer if it keeps weight off your body!

No. Common sense should tell you this is just silly.
Your risk of getting cancer at some point is about 1 in 5 anyway, drinking water that has been sweetened by a product approved by the FDA is not likely to increase that chance! Even if there were the remotest possibility Splenda had any impact on your chances of developing cancer, there are so many other simple things you can change that have a strong link to cancer that the risk from Splenda would pale in comparison. Don't smoke. Don't be fat. Don't eat processed fast food, or fast food at all. Get plenty of exercise & sleep.
And if you don't want to die yo should wear a crash helmet when you drive or ride in a car (your risk of dying from a head injury in a car crash is hundreds of times higher than your risk of getting cancer from anything you eat!)

I heard Splenda is bad just like Equal and Sweet and Low.
It has chemicals apparently.
As a diabetic, choices are hard but at work they recommend
Stevia- a natural sweetener.
I prefer Equal and Sweet and Low over Stevia.

artificial is bad. I hate how they portray these artificial things as healthy because of less calories and so on. The truth is, the chemicals and alterations they are making to the natural forms of foods are SO much more harmful. Also, the NATURAL forms of sugar can even present certain healthy aspects to your diet(used appropriately=not in mass form). I would go regular sugar...much healthier :D

I stopped using Splenda after about 3 months of mild-moderate stomach cramps. I switched over to stevia - http://www.steviacafe.net - and have been happy ever since! =)

Not sure what Splenda will give you, but I have heard that Sweet and Low can cause cancer and Equal can cause brain tumor. Whenever I go to a restaurant with my brother and I order tea, he will usually ask me if I want packets of cancer or brain tumor. Kind of joke we have between us.

i did a project on artificial sweeteners in a food chemestry class in last year in highschool... splenda is suger that has been altered by taking out some of the carbon atoms and replacing them with cholrine atoms.... this over time will begin to bleach your innards because it metabolizes into a substance simmilar to clorox.
if you want fake suger your best bet is equal they havent found any ill effects (yet) and another bad one is sweet n' low that metabolizes into femaldahide so you are slowly embalming yourself
pleasant aint it.

With any artificial sweetners, I get horrific migraines and have to go to hospital. So of course I don't touch the stuff. I am convinced that it is bad to consume it.
