I am going to make some egg pasta, and the recipe i has calls for olive oil. I was wodnering if I could use another oil, like butter.

yes.
keep in mind that some butter contain salt. that's not a bad thing. if you use an unsalted butter, well, then, you know....add some salt.

I wouldn't use butter---try another vegetable oil, like corn oil, canola oil, or plain old vegetable oil.
I HATE the taste of olive oil!

use other oils or just use salted water to avoid the fat
