This plant ledge is above the foyer and is pretty high. The foyer has a black bench, back console table and a large mirror which faces the door. I have wood floors and very light salmon cream walls. It really is very light, it just not a flat cream. I have one large silk plant up there. Any ideas? More plants, candles, baskets . . . Oh, I have a moderate budget for this project, so I can't do expensive art.

Th only really visible room from the foyer is the living room, which currently has a green print chair. We have not purchased a sofa, but expect it to match or complement the chair.

Thanks for your ideas!!!

If you can't reach the ledge to conveniently water a real plant then keep the one silk plant you have but don't add more. They get dusty fast and are hard to clean. Even if you think no one will notice it that high up,it still develops a dull, "dirty" look after a while. The foyer sounds so pretty...I love the combo of black and salmon. On the ledge, besides the plant, put 3 matching baskets in a light color, the kind you would use for files ( bonus hidden storage! ) and a large round plate or platter ( to offset the square lines of the baskets ) in a shiny material like copper or bronze to complement the salmon walls. This will be a grouping of 5,an uneven number which is more pleasing to the eye than even numbers, and you will have a variety of elements...metal/shiny, natural with texture and greenery.

Michaels crafts or another craft store in your area will sell silk plants that resemble the real thing... If you have a high planter and a lot of wall space to it I would suggest using a trailing plant or hanging, Try a few silk Ivy or ferns also use raffia to add dimension and make the planter no seem so high. hope this helps good luck
