My girlfriend and I have been dating for a year and we have a bit of a disagreement. She feels that if she goes out and I am not there it is ok for her to accept drinks form other guys around the bar, but she has told me when I am out without her that I cannot buy anyone drinks. This doesn't seem right to me, I don't want to be buying other girls drinks, but I also don't some slob trying to get my gf drunk and expecting something for the drinks. Who is right here?

this is a good question... I don't think she should accept drinks from guys because it gives them the idea/impression "hey i might have a shot" or "this girl likes me"... she needs to think about it from a guy's POV. If she's going to accept drinks from guys, then you should be allowed to buy girls drinks. I agree with you on this one, bub...

You're not gonna like my answer, but there's nothing wrong with a guy buying your girl a drink. I'm married, and guys will buy me drinks while my husband is with me. And all he says is, let the idiot waste his money, we'll save ours. Don't worry about it, unless you think it is going somewhere else. But if it's just a simple free drink, forget about it.

She's completely wrong. A woman who has a boyfriend, but accepts free drinks from other men, is called a "SLUT." She just sounds trashy and on her way to being a full blown alcoholic. You should dump her, it should make her happy - then she'll get herself even more free drinks from strange men.

sorry hun sounds like its time to move on. She is keeping the door a-jar for something better to come along. Plus it's kinda irresponsible of her ; Hasn't she heard of date rape drugs?
She is not respecting you and that really is a basic requirement of any relationship. I wouldn 't even bother trying to educate her, she'll grow up in her own time. Get yourself a lovely gal that respects you.
How old are you both?
good luck.
