This is a very good quesiton- we debated this in Seminary.
The quesiton was- "A person is on their way to church to be baptized for the remission of their sin, and then they're killed in a car accident- do they go to Heaven or do they go to hell?"
Since God looks at the heart of all people, and he did promise the one theif on the cross that he would "be with him in paradise" who wasn't baptized, it seems that baptizem is an optional thing.
On the other hand, if its so optional, then why did Jesus get baptized and the Father bless him? Why did John the BAPTIST baptize so much?
I believe that its highly encouraged, but may not be necessairly required to be saved.

That's how man-made stuff destroys the work of the Holy
Spirit. Expecting a 2 minute speech! What next?
Getting water baptized doesn't mean a thing if a person just
does it to go through the motions, or get people off their backs.
I got save 3 times, and the last time I said I wouldn't keep
letting people make a joke of it. And that's when I felt the
Holy Spirit.
I don't believe you have to do it to get to heaven. Our spirits
came from heaven, and we "die", our spirits return to
heaven. Unless someone rejects it.
But we live in the HERE AND NOW. And Baptism, if done
right. Not only purifies your spirit, but will give you an
experience that no scoffer, or mocker can take away from you.

Well i used to ask myslef the same but i found out in my church that when u first believe that Jesus i Lord and the He died for u adn that u are willing to give up your life for Him, that's when it would be perfect to get baptized. It's doesn't matter if u think that ur too little or young or that u may not know the Bible back to back.
Just because someone knows the Bbible so well doesn't maen anything. It just means that they study the Bible but doesn that show that they are true Christians? No, so um about the thing of going to Heaven without being baptized, u wouldn't go becuase God says in John 3 :3 that no one who is baptized or is born again (which means the smae thing) will enter the gates of heaven. There is also another verse that has something aboutt hat but i cna't remeber. But yeah You might not be ready but i hope its not cuz u think ur too young or too little or that someone told u that ur not ready. How would they know? They're not u so how would they know? But yeah i hoe that i helped. Because iwas going throught the same problem and when i found that verse while i was reading the Bible, i was sad cuz i am worried that tiem will run out adn that when Jesus i coming back, i will not be baptized and hten will not be able to go to heaven. BUt i was been ready to get baptized. Since like Nov of last yar but i kept hearing ppl say oh ur too young or you're not readya dn i listened to them. Then somone tolld me that i can go when i am so my church ahs been baptizing ppl in the name of Jesus since the last three years and the next one i am going to take it. I am so ready. I hope i helped. And keep looking up to God and never stop loving Him.
Oh yeah and also, my church reqiurees a pseech on when u were saved and why u wanna get baptized and what getting baptized means to u. You have rto have a fav verse and then a prayer request for ur life after being bron again. That maybe is two minutes but im not sure. But im not sure if all churches ask the same question.

Act 2:38 says Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holyghost. To be baptised means to be totally immersed (you can even look it up yourself!) when you are baptised your are shedding the old man as to say and being reborn. believeing in God will not simply cut it!!you must recieve the gift of the holy ghost! Which is a gift where you are speaking in other tounges. You do not know how badly you must have this to go to heaven!! As the part where will you go to heaven if you are not baptized i would have to say that is all in your heart and only God knows what is in your heart. you will know when the right time comes. I highly recommend pentecostal churches if you are wanting any further knowledge on this topic.

One needs to be baptized(immersion) for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38.
The thief on the cross was forgiven before Jesus' death and resurrection and therefore was still under the Old Covenant and not the New Covenant that Jesus' death and resurrection established.
Being forced to make a speech is not biblical and you may want to ask why they demand this.

If you believe in your heart that you are a sinner and you have accepted that Jesus died for your sins and was buried an arose again on the third day, then you will be saved if you died before getting Baptised, If you are truly sorry for your sins and you have turned from them and continue to follow Jesus walking in His path. I am thrilled to hear that you are going to be baptised. May God bless you is my prayer> Stay close to Jesus. As far as your speech is concerned ,don't worry about it all The Holy Spirit will give you the right Words to speak if you trust Him.

Baptism is importaint to go to Heaven...and Jesus said that too ..but baptism comes right after u repent of ur sins it is a public confession of ur sins ....but baptism alone cannot take u to heaven bec Jesus is the only way to heaven ...so if u believe in Jesus and then get baptised then u will go to heaven ...and then again u should have a true change in ur heart

First of all, not all churches dunk those being baptized - some sprinkle (water on the head) and others pour (water on the head) and in those cases, whether you have a tampon doesn't matter.
As for your original question, being baptized is only a sign of your willingness to let God rule your life. It neither saves you from nor condemns you to to hell.
Just as you can't get into heaven (even if you are baptized) if you don't accept Christ as your personal savior, you won't be rejected from heaven for the lack of being baptized.
I pray that you do accept Christ as your personal savior and seek to follow His ways and teachings.
Don't fall prey to "religions of works" because the correct works follow the teachings of Christ and false teachings put you in jeopardy of damnation for all the wrong reasons.

You must be baptized for the remission of your sin's before you die, you don't have a chance at all if you are not baptized. don't be afraid, it is over very quickly. and you will never be the same, I am praying for you honey, don't wait, don't put it off, it is the most important thing you will ever do.. really be sincere, and the Lord will see you through it all the way.. May GOD BLESS YOU. Tell them you believe JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD!!!! ENOUGH SAID.
