I think that would be impossible due to the fact that the bible has been proven over and over again to be factually true in every detail. Many people who hate God have researched and studied, hoping for even a tiny glimpse of contradiction or falsity in the Word and have come up empty. Many more people hate God than love Him and they can't find anything, which fuels their hate even more. The bible could have only been inspired/written by an all-knowing God.

That's pretty close to the truth. I fact, there were scads of 'salvation cults' proliferating in the are at that time. One of them, the 'Christ Cult', just happened to get lucky, and some scam artists sensed a business opportunity.

Christianity is essentially a criminal business enterprise... in fact, it is the world's longest running and most successful Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) scam. The product they are selling is the illusion of 'salvation'... and the 'pay plan' doesn't kick in until after you're dead. Meanwhile the VICTIMS (having been deceived into believing that it is their God-given duty) are out there busily recruiting MORE victims. What a racket! FORTUNATELY, it only works on those who are gullible enough, and sufficiently lacking in critical thinking skills, to fall for it, and buy in to the prepackaged delusion. UNfortunately, THAT accounts for about 75% of the population of the USA. (There are a lot more people who DON'T know how to think properly than there are people who DO know how to think properly.) That is why there are a lot more religious people in the USA than there are 'Free-thinkers'... including Atheists. Also, Christians are generally too dense to realize that proselytizing (spreading the 'good news') is a key element of the Christian MLM MARKETING PLAN, which was instituted after Christianity lost the political power that had previously allowed them to simply torture and kill anybody who did not comply. Now, they obliviously try to just pester and annoy people to death, through persistent obnoxiousness. If you stop to think about it, you will realize that Christians are very much like the Borg, on Star Trek Next Generation: "You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." I would not be surprised to learn that thoughts of Christianity provided the 'creative spark' for the Borg concept.

The Old Testament is a fictionalized account invented by desert nomads and none of it actually happened.

There is no historical evidence to support the claim that mighty Hebrew empires ever existed. You would think old King Solomon would have left some kind of evidence given the claims he was so wealthy, wise & famous, but, there is nothing to be found to support the claim he even existed, much less reigned over a mighty empire.

And, that pattern continued all the way through the Jesus myths. Which were incorporated into the Roman Empire's Universal Religion Constantine invented in the 4th century.

The Bible is no different than a comic book or any other work of fiction. It does have more porn & violence than normal, but that is what makes it so popular. Sex & violence have always been popular.

If you really studied the Bible, and didn't just read it, you would understand that is completely impossible.

Do a google search for Biblical typology. Once you understand the layers of meaning and the way that Old Testament is contained in the New Testament and the New Testament in the Old Testament, you will understand that men could not have written the Bible on their own, especially not as a prank that got out of hand.
