Actually, Christians and Buddhists treat the statue and cross very similarly. Christians hold the cross as a symbol of Christ and his teachings and the gateway to heaven, but they don't worship it per se. Buddhists similarly look to the statue of Buddha as a symbol of self-enlightenment and Nirvana, which they hope to achieve. But they don't worship it either. Christians who spout about Buddhists being against God don't know what Buddhism really is, much less what they're talking about.

First of all Buddists don't worship budda he is their spiriual guide in their lives. But if you wanna get technical everyone who has a religion of of some sort worships a statue because otherwise the real person would have to be right in front of them whenever they prayed.

You'll also here a lot of Christians claim the Muslims worship a "moon God" or that Catholics worship The Virgin Mary.....

You hear a lot from people who really don't know what they're talking about.

Eh..
