yes. receding gums show an osteoporosis of the jaw bone. you must increase your calcium/magnesium intake to at least 3,000/1,500 mcgs daily. (Always take Cal/MAg in a 2/1 ratio for best results). Also, take cod liver oil in gel caps. CLO is rich with vitamins A and D, and will strenghten your teeth and gums.

Gums cannot regenerate themselves. But if you get treatment they should stop receding. However, you can get a gum graft where some gum tissue from another part of your mouth is cut and used to cover the areas exposed by receding gums.

Get to the dentist. Like, yesterday. It's a serious problem and you need to get it taken care of. They might plump up a little if you get the underlying problem taken care of. If you have a medicine that makes your mouth super-dry, try to get it switched. Just talk to the dentist and keep it all clean up in those gums!
