Well most of these people did not even answer your question, anyways, if you have the chance to get a GT-R then go for it. It is an awesome car and has a lot of performance potential. That is my dream car and I am unable to get one in the states. But in Ireland you're so lucky about getting that car. You don't have to worry about anything, but fixing that thing up would be insane. It is the lightest of the 3 GT-Rs. if you do a little history on it, it is know as "Godzilla" in japan and when it first came out it dominated every race that it was in and had to be put into its own catagory of race in Japan. It is much better than the current skyline and 350z put together. The VQ35DE has nothing on the RB26DETT.
Good luck with it if it happens.

GTR or GTS?

GTR = bad @ss! That RBDETT26 engine is a monster and the Attessa all wheel drive system.

GTS.........never mind.

Great car if you can find one that is street legal in the US especially since you can't even legalize it in the US anymore. Only one place I can think of that will still help legalize it (RB Motoring) and the place most famous for legalizing a Skyline (Motorex) closed down a while back.

I think your going out to get a 20 year old performance car. Did you realise the 350z and the new GTR are better in most every way. Saftey airbags, Handling 19" wheels, Brembo brakes, Better sound system. And factory warranty.

stay away!!! the are like arses in ireland at the moment - everyone has one and they are done to death at this stage! Plus the insurance companies will do you big time for a premium!! i'm in waterford and i know atleast 7 people with them but they are all thinking of getting rid and buying Nissan 180's cause they are smaller, lighter, easier to drift and cheaper insurance and tax and cheaper to run!

Absolutly class car. Not like these stupid hot hatches designed to appeal to little boys that are afraid to drive a real sports car. The Chassis I have heard can handle 850BHP comfortably, thats how good the car was.

Cool, if you've got $100k for a used car and don't mind waiting 6 months for importation and conversion.
