and for the past few days i have been asking similar questions
i have gotten some wonderful answers
but sadly some very negative ones also
but i live in hope

We do not live together in peace because we are human beings born in a world of people with a sinful nature. Adam and Eve's disobedience to God caused all of us to be born sinful. Jesus came to bring peace to the world. Following and believing in Him, would cause us to react to others in a peaceful way.

Because you talked about generalities. If you go into details, you'll see the seed of violence. Take for instance my lattest question about religions. And see what kind of answers I got. Religious violence is terrible, and it should end right now, but I'm afraid we've got a long way to go before humanity ever gets to see that...

If people were left to their own devices they would chose to go about their business in peace. It seems like the government and other leaders are the ones who want war.

This tells us alot. What does this say to us? What is our responsibility? "You shall observe to do therefore as the Lord...hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left" (Deut. 5:32). "Hold fast the form of sound words" (2 Tim. 1:13). "Continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them" (2 Tim. 3:14). "Mark them which cause divisions and offenses contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them" (Rom. 16:17).

Individuals could. It's just that in a large group of people, cliques form. It's the ugly side of human nature, to not accept people who are different. All you can do is your best.
