I had to dye my hair ash colors because i had red hair before and so i dyed it dark ash blonde, then medium ash blonde, then light ash brown, i have almost all the red out, i just can't seem to get this maroonish very dark brown out of my hair, my hair is fried now i'm afraid of dying it again, i need to strip it or something at a salon but i'm a poor girl so i can't really do that. my natural shade is like either the lightest brown with subtle gold hints in it, or the darkest blonde with subtle gold hints in it, so please is there some way i can get my natural shade back?

i do dye it every month, that's how i've been doing it. no matter how bright the dye is it always turns my hair darker, i'm just trying to find out how to get my hair brighter without using bleach.

The problem is you are coloring your hair too much, color does not color over color well, what I mean is it's better to color natural (non-colored hair), or to color hair after it's been bleached. When you put color on top of color it cannot create the right color because the previous color has taken up all the space- so to say. If you can't afford to go to a salon, you're going to have to wait it out. You could buy Redken Hair Cleansing Creme or wash it with Dawn dish soap, & that may help fade it a little more, but no guarentees, be sure to use a conditioner afterwards. All you can do is save up money until you can go to a salon to get it done right - & don't try to bleach it yourself, or you'll have another mess on your hands, trust me.

Well, all I can think of is to go get it done professionally once. Tell them that you want your natural shade back, (but it will be "fake" for a while = dye the color of your hair). They'll bleach the other stuff out and dye it. They'll tell you what you need to keep your color strong and your hair soft, etc. Then, your hair will grow out and eventually you could just cut the unnatural "real" hair color out.

I suggest that you go to a professional to see what she/he has to offer for advice and then let she/him give you the first treatment to see how it works.
This treatment might be a bit costly but it's well worth it for get the job that you want done to your hair.
Being a red head may be part of your problem as I too have red high-lights in my hair and find it difficult some times to get the light blond that I like.
Good luck.

Save up and get the money to have it stripped. It's over processed. Ask around and see if your friends knows someone who can hook you up with someone who does hair.

Hey,
You should put henna in your hair. It's natural and it works.
Hope I can help,
Millie
