for about 2-3 weeks now , i've had a really sore neck...i wouldnt say that the pain is excrutiating, just very painful, and it is possible for me to turn my neck although it hurts a lot...most of the time it hurts on my right side, almost on my shoulder..like between my neck and my shoulder but it can be on the other side and in the middle too sometimes...but it hasnt gone away after like three weeks and it is really annoying me..im a 14 year old girl...could it possibly be stress(i just started high school)...i dont feel stressed but i probably am..also is it possible that it is a heavy backpack..im not used to the weight of my backpack could that have injured my neck..also i was wondering if it could be because i have pretty bad posture..i slouch a lot and rarely sit up straight..idk if it could be any of those or if it sounds like something else..please help...how can i make the pain go away too, any suggestions? thanks for your help

Can you go to a walk-in clinic where they will let you make payments? You really should be seen as it could be a lot of things. Advil is an anti-inflamatory so if it worked, it could be a pulled muscle or it could be a gland that is infected. Some pain radiates from where it starts to a different area. I take it you don't have any teeth that could be abcessed? I had neck and jaw pain due to this but no headache. Which doesn't mean anything as we all react differently to such things. Sounds like the pain is managable with medication but it may only get worse if you don't get it diagnosed. I would say that one Doctor visit would cost less than a hospital stay! Good luck.

It is quite possible it is the weight of your backpack causing stress on your neck. Sitting poorly at your desk and slouching! bad posture will only get worse and then permanent. Stand up straight and sit up straight. Get a Backpack that rolls. Don't put anything on your shoulders that pulls them down...like the backpack, without support.

Interchanging ice and heat. Ice on it for 20 minutes then heat for 20 minutes a couple times a day till pain is relieved.

You need to make either a scanner or an IRM (both are a kind of radio) of your cervical verterbres. Searching for Discopathie C5-C6 and C6-D1. (Hernie) I had this. Now I am OK . It usualy get less painfull after the 2 month. NO operation. Try to strech your neck up .Isometric musculation exercises are OK. Massages are OK by a specialist .Don't go to someone you have no references. Only a very good kine. Neck aches are very accurate to heal . Remember to lower you shoulders while you strech the neck. I Whish you the best

it can definitely be stress.
It can also be the way you are sleeping, if anything has changed with that.
Also, how about your backpack? Is it too heavy? That can cause problems for sure.
After three weeks and it hasn't gone away, I think you should ask your doctor.
either accupuncture or a good massage can help.
Good luck.
