I've straightened my hair 2 weeks ago, and my hair stylist told me I should wait like 6 weeks. But I've read somewhere that 15 days is ok. My roots are showing as I haven't dyed my hair for 1,5 months now. I don't think I can wait 4 more weeks. What would you suggest?

I've straightened my hair with Chi-type of hair straightener, and I'm not talking about highlighting or anything just regular dye.

As a general rule I tell my clients to wait 1 week between chemical services. Applying color on top of relaxed hair is fine, but the hair is more porous so time needs to be cut back as it will take quicker and it will depend on what type of color u r going to apply, like semi or permanent. If you have roots I am assuming its permanent, just condition well until it is time to apply and make sure u get the right kind of products to take care of it after it is done.

I am a licensed Cosmetologist/Instructor. And since you have already colored your hair, you need to wait at least a week. However, no matter how long you wait, the straightening is going to fade your color. Whenever you want to have both, you should always do the perm or straightening first as it usually wrecks havoc with color. Also, it just depends on what you colored your hair with. If you used something from the store it's a good possibility that it was a "metallic dye" and that could also influence the results of your straightening chemical. Also, if you lightened your hair, even a shade lighter, this could cause damage to your hair, even make it break of fall out. So be careful you could have a real mess on your hands. Sometimes, you get what you pay for, and I would suggest to have professional do it so that they can assess the condition of your hair before you put more chemicals on it. Good luck!!

You want everything EXCEPT what you have!! I don't get it!

Leave your freaken hair alone. Wash it, dry it, brush it. Other than that, quit being assinine and leave it alone!
