Headline: "Italian nun killed by Somali gunmen "
This woman was 60 years old. She was in Somalia to help people in the local hospital. She had been there since 2002 and suddenly she is shot to death and the thinking is it is because of what the Pope said in his speech last week. What kind of people kill an old lady who is there to help them because of something that an old man thousands of miles away says? I am so sick of these intolerant b****rds. There are no redeeming qualities in their 'faith' if this is what they do.

A few responses :
Redflag: I agree with you. The Pope should have kept his big fat mouth shut and not thrown more gasoline onto the fire.
Shadow: I hate to point it out, but what happened in Ireland? Heard of the IRA and the bloodshed that happened there in the name of Christianity? All through history, Christians have killed each other because of religion.
Zany b: If you read my question correctly (which you obviously didn't) I DID NOT lump everyone in the same pile. I specifically wrote "faith" to show that it is the extremist view of the Islamic faith. Don't jump to conclusions!

Non-Christians can say what they want about Christianity, but Christians haven't killed others in the name of religion since the Crusades!

Why on earth would rational adults burn down buildings and randomly attack people because of something said by an authority figure of an entirely different religion?

It makes you want to just shake them by the shoulders and yell: "You don't like what the Pope has to say? Good, me neither! But I'm not going to act like a lunatic because of it! Grow up and just tune him out."

What the hell? There isn't even a solid connection. It *might* be related to what the Pope said, but then, we *might* turn into cookie monsters tommorrow night. Somalia has never been world-famous for being the most stable country in the book. Those "intolerant b***rds" have taken a perfectly reasonable, peaceful and functioning religion and turned it into an excuse for murder. But then, doesn't everyone have to have an alibi?

And thanks so much for lumping everyone into the same pile. Because, you know, I so want to just decapitate you right now. As does my entire family and the huge communitty of Muslims everywhere. Oh, you bad, bad, infidel.

just like within the chritian religion, there are they who pervert islam. If you recall in our history, it was the christians who killed and murdered in the name of God. That was in the past... it changed because the people woke up, and started to read and study for themselves.

well in islam, it is the same. God never intended for that to be that way over there. Few realize that over there those are the decendents of the Canaanites who are over there carrying on like they do. They can't help but to be the way they are... for they grow up under the tutelege of evil men who seek to use a blessed religion to their own personal gain. And like the pagan ministers of christianity, they only use the parts that further their personal gains.

But in the end; the Most High God will prevail. And all of HIS prophets will stand with H.I.M. on Judgement day; and I would be willing to bet that Muhammed would not say that that is what he intended. Just like our Saviour will say much of what is today is not what HE intended. All those pagan leaders; both christian as well as islamic included will get the Lake of Fire for the false doctrines they preach.

And those who murdered the elderly woman will not get away with it; for innocent blood does not wash off.

I say all that because you say "There are no redeeming qualities in their 'faith' if this is what they do." But it is not the religion of islam that make them the way that they are, it is their personal lack of knowledge that allows them to be manipulated that way. And for that; they will suffer. Selah

It's always bad when a person kills another. No matter what each of them did for a living, or what religion each of them had.

If the pope had kept his big fat mouth shut, then we wouldn't be dealing with these things. He knew the consequences before he said that. Why throw gasoline onto a fire? He is responsible for that woman's death by inciting hatred. This is another example of xians who can't live and let live.
