I have always had lots of freinds and been popular with both girls and boys. Recently, i started getting very close to a girl ive known for a while. She was always telling me that i'm the funniest person she knows and that im so sweet and i felt the same about her and she is very good looking too. I was beginning to really fall for her. Then one day i told her how much i care about her and she said that she loved me but only as a freind. You have no idea how much this hurt and i know its got to have something to do with my looks. I'm not terribly ugly but i know im clearly not stunning. Most girls give me a sympathetic 6-7 out of 10 when i ask but i know they are just trying not to hurt me. This is mainly for the girls so would you ever choose an average looking guy you connect greatly with over a handsome guy you dont really have a lot in comon with? Please be honest.

How old are you? If you are still a teen, carry on with life and continue being popular and funny. You will find that when you get into your 20's, girls priorities change. Suddenly good looks take a back seat to funny, intelligent, wealthy, successful, etc. If you feel really great about yourself, then other people will flock around you always, especially if you are funny and the life of the party. Guaranteed.

Look man i was in your position before so try this. First be really nice to a girl ie be available for her whenever she wants you. Become her best friend try making her laugh but dont do immature stuff like bullying or making fun of other people. Now you gotta have patience man. The girl has to see the real you the person inside you not the person outside , and you have to make her realize that. Dont go for girls who only go for looks go for a girl who is after the real you.

i would go for the average guy bc if i had a lot of things in common with him we would get along a lot better than if i went for the handsome guy with the perfect hair and blah blah blah bc they would most likely be a butt that loved themselves more than they could ever like me
trust me Ive been in your condition and I'm kinda pretty too some people are just jerks and they think that they will have their whole world shattered if they don't have the perfect bf or gf and in life they wont be as good of a person as you will bc they will have to realize that nothings perfect not even themselves
so yes i would go for the average before the gorgeous!

Guys that have personality have to wait longer for the girl...it's sad to say that but it's true...handsome usually gets the "goodies" first but the friendship lasts longer...one day she'll look at you and know that you are the one that has made her happy and been there for her...she'll see that handsome isn't always in looks but overall personality...be patient but not pathetic...good luck funny man

i'm sorry you got hurt. i'm actually attracted to funny guys you seem cool because most guys who dont consider themselves "handsome" get depressed or can be jerks. if you're funny it shows you have a great personality and that should over come everything if u are as cool as you sound based on ur personality i'd give you a 10. you sound like a great guy that's her loss

thanks for asking this question. I have also experienced this so I will keep checking the answers as they also apply to me. Just letting you know your not alone out there. All the good looking, jerky guys seem to get all the great girls, while us average looking guys seem to get left behind as I have. I'm 24, yes still young, but it still is frustrating. so I feel your pain my friend. Just thought I'd let ya know your not alone out there!

i would pick an average looking guy that i connect with over a really cute dumb guy, look doesn't matter bcoz it comes n goes like the wind. n being a 6-7 isn't half bad.

you also didn't specify your age. looks will fade but a good personality is yours forever!! just keep doing your thing... when she gets tired of dating the "good looking" guys who will more than likely treat her like crap, she may realize what a great boyfriend you could be. good luck.
