A nun and her bodyguard were killed at a charity run hospital in Somalia. She was shot four times in the back. She was basically an old woman at the age of 60. Is this how Muslims prove to the world they are not violent?
I know many Muslims are not violent but many of these many do not do enough to cry out against injustices done in the name of Islam.
I believe the Koran, Hadiths, and the Sharia make it difficult to interpret in a peaceful way making people have to rely on the goodness of there heart to avoid acting out some of these dysfunctions shattered throughout the text.
If we do not wake up soon and stop playing this silly PC game we’ve all been playing to appease the anger of the Muslim community I’m afraid things will only go from bad to worse.

I found it interesting that this assignation "came hours after a leading Somali cleric condemned remarks by the pope that quoted a Byzantine emperor who characterized some of the teachings of Islam's founder as "evil and inhuman.""
It is obvious this has a direct correlation as a reaction to the Pope's quote.

The Ry-Guy, I understand your point well but it is the frequency and ferosity of events like these that tells me it is not just a few nut balls. I have read enough of the Koran and have been quote enough hadiths to know it that these people are getting proded from somewhere. And this proding would not be so easy if the text did not give ammunition to such interpretations.

The Ry-Guy, I am not advocating the condemnation of all Muslims. I do recognize that many are more than willing to be peaceful. At the same time I don't feel the Muslim community has done enough to speak out against such injustices and makes many people feel that many in the community are sympathetic via their silence. I truly wish that the vast vast majority of Muslims are like how you say. Maybe you feel called to express your sympathies to the victims and to protest against those who in the name of Islam have done such. If the Muslims community can get so worked up over cartoons in Denmark surely they can get equally worked up if not more when people are murdered in their name. I sincerely wish your soul well.

Yes, and it's very sad...
I'm sure there are Muslims that follow the Qu'ran and are peaceful. HOWEVER...
There are radical Muslims and they are violent and hateful.
Did Muhammad write in the Qu'ran that Muslims must kill the infidels?
That doesn't sound very peaceful to me...
Tasneen...the rape in Iraq in which you speak, did the two guys say, I'm Christian and we watched this rape or what ever it is they did?
Just because someone is from America, doesn't mean they are Christian. They could be an atheist (no belief in God).
Just because people are from the USA doesn't make them a Christian anymore than me standing in a garage makes me a car.

Obviously that's not how Muslims show they are non-violent...unless you count all the other Muslims in the world who DIDN'T shoot that old lady.
This has nothing to do with being PC. It has to do with using more than three brain cells at a time when you think about this. Calling people violent because they don't "cry out" enough? What would be enough to satisfy you? The news is an incomplete picture anyway. Maybe lots of Muslims are crying out. Maybe none. It doesn't prove anything.
I don't get called violent when white supremecists beat up black people. I don't get called violent when Christians bomb abortion clinics. Muslims, however, get called violent when some of them act violently.
EDIT: I would contend that you and I don't actually know the true frequency of these types of attacks. Instead, we only know how often they are reported by the international press. It may only look like they have a high frequency simply because other types of attacks don't get reported as often. Some bad Muslims have been causing a lot of trouble, and so this naturally stirs interest in stories about bad Muslims.
Logically, I don't see how this is validation for condemnation of all Muslims. It's just not. Lots of Muslims are saying flat out that they aren't violent and don't want to do things like this. These people even back it up by NOT being violent.

Well they failed on the theology issues so it always leads back to violence. Islam relies on force instead of truth to sustain itself.
