go to your closest senior center and put an ad on their board. How awesome would it be to actually talk to the person making the blanket? I did this for my sister, and the blanket turned out beautiful and really personalized, plus I just had to buy the supplies b/c the lady really enjoyed the company.

go to walmart and get the quilted baby material - all you have to do is put the ribbon around it - then it will be unique because you made it - its vary ez to do - I have made 1 for each of my grand kids -18 in all - you can make one in less than 1 day

if you want something unique then its probally best to make one...then no one else will have the same blanket...my aunt made my daughter a blanket with her name embroidered on it
