Your hair is naturally thick, like mines, but you didn't say whether or not you had a perm? From your pic, I'm guessing that your hair is long and straightened now... just thick.

The best thing to do is to start with a good haircut. That way, no matter how you style it, it's likely to look decent.

I love the way my hair looks half up-half down. I bump the ends with a curling iron and it adds a nice touch.

Have you tried those straw curls? That always looks cute...but it doesn't last very long.

How about coloring your hair with a semi permanent rinse? I know that isn't a "style" but it may add a nice flare to your look. I use Jazzin' in Cherry Cola- it has NO harmful chemicals and I reapply it as often as every couple months! I love that stuff cuz it just adds a nice subtle highlight.

IHmm I can't think of anything else for some reason... but if your hair IS permed or pressed, remember to wrap it every night. That will keep your straight style from becoming thick again and will keep your hair healthier.

Best wishes!

Go to a stylist (before getting it cut) and talk with them about a style. They will give you some ideas that will go with the shape of your face as well as the texture of your hair. If you like what they tell you....make an appointment. Don't forget a nice tip if you like the cut... Take care and enjoy your new look!

Get an afro! Just kidding! I think that you should defiantly look at some style books at the salon and also talk to your stylist about what style would go with your face and as would with your hair.
