There was no outstanding balance, a statement consists of words not numbers as the balance outstanding was 0 just a nasty statement.

Yes, if it's true! They don't put "statements" as such (although you can) but any correct adverse information such as late payments, chargeoffs, etc would stand on their own merit and would certainly be derogatory.

Not totally sure what you mean--

but I do know they can only tell the truth about their experiences with you and only in professional language.

Yes, if you miss payments they are permitted to record that.
Obviously they can't make any personal comments!!
